Dr Ana Antelava is a Project Leader at Novel Polymer Technologies section at TWI Ltd. She is a member of TWI’s plastics recycling and sustainability theme, supporting in robust projects such as ISOPREPTM and SolRec2, developing novel approaches to recycling end-of-life plastics and introducing into an upcycled or circular business model.
Ana holds a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from London South Bank University. Her doctoral research was carried out in collaboration with TWI Ltd at National Structural Integrity Research Center in Cambridge and the topic of her PhD was the assessment of highly repellent and non-wetting surfaces. Ana’s research interests include super repellent coatings, polymer recycling and waste valorisation.
Ana’s inspiration: “We engineers have the responsibility to be environmentalists and develop effective and sustainable processes that help preserve valuable resources and our planet. This project is not only high-tech, but also environment oriented – it has a great mission to develop more sustainable and greener solution for recycling.”
