Sabancı University IMC - Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Research and Application Center is a research and technology development center encompassing basic research, prototyping and pilot production in the area of polymeric materials and composites with a significant academic and industrial research track record.
SU IMC team, led by Dr Serkan Unal in ISOPREP is working with the ISOPREP team to optimise the implemented recycling process for the recovery of high purity polypropylene from waste carpet. Trials are conducted in an in-house developed system with a 30 L processing capacity.
SU IMC team is also carrying out characterisation studies and investigating optimum conditions for the melt processing of the recycled polypropylene.
