Optimising the cradle-to-cradle design of waste PP materials

Tue, 02 March, 2021

The ISOPREP project offers an innovative new approach on recycling of end-of-life polypropylene (PP) products back into virgin-like quality PP using Ionic Liquids (ILs).

This is achieved in a closed-loop mechanical and chemical recycling process where all reagents and mediums are recycled and used in many cycles.

Our consortium member, London South Bank University, is supporting in the performance evaluation of the ILs over time and are studding the efficiency of selected dissolution per cycle, whilst misidentifying the identity and impact of new wastes composition.

The ISOPREP consortium is optimising the cradle-to-cradle design of waste PP materials and helping EUs transition towards a circular economy.
